Road Safety Awareness Initiative by MBSS
Creating Safer Roads Through Awareness and Community Participation
Madan Bahuudheshiya Sevabhavi Sanstha (MBSS) has been actively working towards promoting road safety and reducing road accidents through extensive awareness campaigns across Maharashtra.
Under the Road Safety Awareness Project, MBSS was selected by the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH), Government of India, New Delhi, to implement road safety awareness activities in the districts of Jalna and Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar (Aurangabad).
The project was successfully implemented in collaboration with:
- District Police Administration
- Regional Transport Office (RTO)
- Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC)
- Educational Institutions
- Government and Semi-Government Offices
- Industrial Units and MIDC Areas
Major Activities Conducted
Road Safety Awareness Camps
Road safety awareness programs were organized at:
- Schools
- Colleges
- Government Offices
- Semi-Government Offices
- Industrial Establishments
- MIDC Areas
- Public Gathering Places
Highway Awareness Programs
Awareness drives were conducted on major highways to educate drivers, passengers and pedestrians about:
- Traffic rules and regulations
- Importance of wearing helmets
- Use of seat belts
- Avoiding drunk driving
- Safe driving practices
- Pedestrian safety measures
- Emergency response awareness
Installation of Road Safety Sign Boards
Road safety information boards and awareness displays were installed at various petrol pumps and strategic locations to continuously remind road users about safe driving practices.
Chitra Rath Awareness Campaign
Special road safety awareness campaigns were conducted through “Chitra Rath” vehicles carrying educational messages, visual displays and public announcements to reach a wider audience across rural and urban areas.
Impact of the Initiative
Through this project, thousands of citizens, students, drivers, transport operators and community members were educated about responsible road usage and accident prevention measures.
The initiative significantly contributed to enhancing public awareness regarding road safety rules and encouraged citizens to become responsible road users.
